Manav Sewa Samiti (MSS), Legship Bazar, West Sikkim conducted its General Body cum Public Meeting in the premises of its Head Office to review its latest financial year (2013 – 14) journey in development sector. There are 138 people from the surrounding villages including officials from Police Out post, Legship area with 80% of General Body members have gathered to fulfil the motto of the meeting successfully. To be more transparent in further step of development MSS shared its strategies and got well response from the attendees as well as availed constructive suggestions respectively. On the other hand MSS elaborated its latest year financial report to the public. In this meeting MSS provided financial assistance of Rs.5000/=(Indian rupees five thousand) only from its surplus income to the poorest of the poor families, whose family head expired during last financial year as it is one of the regular activity carrying out by the organization since couple of years. Awareness has been carried during the meeting to know how about the basic water release system of NHPC Dam, Rangit Nagar, South Sikkim, which is situated above Legship area and 5 km far away from the place. It is because as near past the people of the area lost their family member during releasing water from the Dam while concentrated in the river extracting chips, filtering sands, etc. as their daily wages. Finally MSS informed the people of the area that based on the area felt need & its rendering efforts and outstanding approach in development, it has been able to avail one AMBULANCE for the current financial year (2014 – 15) from NHPC, Rangit Nagar Station, South Sikkim. With eager expectation of the public cooperation all the way, it has also requested the people for such support regularly further to uplift the area also to be lime lighted as one of the Ideal clusters of Sikkim. At the end of the meeting, with all the people attendees, MSS observed integrated silent prayer of two minutes for the soul peace in heaven of those who passes away from the community in the latest year.
